Neutralisation or H2O Formation Equation.

NaOH(aq) < = > Na+(aq) + OH-(aq)

H2Ta(aq) < = > H+(aq) + HTa-(aq)

HTa-(aq) < = > H+(aq) + Ta=(aq)

OH-(aq) + H+(aq) < = > H2O

An hydroxide ion (OH-) is basic or alkaline

An hydrogen ion (H+) is acidic.

An water molecule (H2O) is neutral

It can be seen from the above equations that it requires two molecules of NaOH (sodium hydroxide) to neutralize one molecule of H2Ta (Tartaric Acid).
