Preparation of 0.100 molar Hydrochloric Acid solution (0.100 M HCl)

Hydrochloric acid (HCl) is a secondary standard used for standardising NaOH solutions, used in the determination of SO₂ concentrations.


To prepare an accurate 0.100 M HCL soln.


1. - Purchase and use a prepackaged ampoule containing a precisely determined quantity of HCl.

2. - Dilute accurately to 0.1M HCl using a volumetric flask.
