Relationship between molecular SO₂, FSO₂ and pH

• The formula below calculates the amount of free sulphur dioxide (FSO₂) required, at a given pH, to achieve 0.8 ppm molecular SO₂.
  
  0.8 ppm of MSO₂ is the concentration required to provide adequate anti microbial control.
  
  Molecular SO₂ ppm = FSO₂ ppm * 10^{1.77 - pH}
