Levulose

• The word levulose comes from the Latin word laevus meaning "left"
  
  
• Levulose is the old word for the most common and naturally occurring isomer of fructose called d-fructose.
  
  
• D-fructose, or levulose, is an optically active isomer able to rotate plane-polarised light to the left, hence the name levulose.
