Molar solution
- Molar (M) is a unit of concentration of a substance, or more correctly, solute in solution.
- A one molar solution consists of one mole (1M) of a substance or solute per liter of solution.
i.e. a one molar solution (1M) of a substance is the concentration achieved by dissolving one mole of that substance (solute) in water (H2O) and bringing the final solution up to a volume of 1 L
- The concentration of a molar solution or moles per litre (mol/L) is represented by the symbol M
