Ethanol Equivalents
- The alcohol concentration in wine, is a measure of all of the various alcohols present.
- The alcohol concentration level expressed as % v/v at 20oC assumes, for convenience, that all alcohols present in wine exist as ethanol (ethyl alcohol), as this is not far from the truth.
- The unit of alcohol concentration is given then in %v/v as ethanol equivalents at 20oC in Australia and New Zealand.
- In countries such as America the temperature of the measurement is 60oF (15.56oC).
