Hydrogen peroxide (H₂O₂).

• The abbreviation for hydrogen peroxide is H₂O₂, indicating that each molecule of H₂O₂ contains two (2) atoms of hydrogen (H) and two (2) atoms of oxygen (O).
  
  
• H₂O₂ (hydrogen peroxide) is a strong oxidising agent and will oxidise many colour and flavour compounds of grape juice and wine.
  
  
• H₂O₂ will also oxidise SO₂ to H₂SO₄ (sulphuric acid) according to the following equation.
