• Microorganisms are extremely small organisms or microbes. One micron or one millionth of a meter or less in size. They can not be seen with the naked eye and require a microscope to be observed.
  
  
• Examples of micro-organisms involved in wine production are yeasts (fungi) and bacteria (LAB, Acetobacter)
